Selective laser melting of NiTi stents with open-cell and variable diameter

This work investigates the processing of NiTi open-cell peripheral stents with variable diameter by SLM and consecutive heat treatments. The production designs via requires dedicated strategies to avoid use support structures comparable dimensions stent struts. Process parameters were studied using an system operating pulsed wave emission assess geometrical fidelity density thin novel mesh was designed produced employing gaps unmelted powder between cells along build direction. Solution annealing stress relieving treatments assessed after SLM. results show that regular struts high (>99.5%) austenitic transformation finish below room temperature can be achieved treatment.
